On May 1, 1971, Beta Omega Chapter was founded as a result of an expansion from Kappa, its mother chapter. This new tri-county chapter, part of District III, included Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pinellas counties. The first induction ceremony was held at the Suwannee Hotel in St. Petersburg, Fl. The chapter members of Beta Omega were: Anna "Nancy" Bennett, Jeanine Blauvelt, Beverly Broderson Roberts, Graycie Cameron, Josephine Cannon, Mary Ann Centinero, Joan Clark, Thelma Clark, Flo Davis, Joan Herndon, Francis Hoffman, Doris Howell, Genda Jewell, Marison Johns, Eda Chappell, Alene Mahan, Yvonne McKitrick, Irma Norman, Jane Padgett, Lou Perry, Helen Richeson, Mary Silsby, Carolyn Steele, Dorothy Terrell, Nancy Thigpen, Inez Tsacrios, and Joann Wickline.

Our chapter's first officers were:

This first slate of officers served a three year term (1971-1974) since the chapter was chartered in the middle of a Mu State Biennium. The longer term aligned Beta Omega with other state chapters.

On May 6, 1972, our chapter's first new members, Vesta Compton and Charlotte Rozelle, were installed.

In 1990, our chapter received an outstanding honor. Past International President Marge Allen transferred in from California. Of all the chapters in the Tampa Bay area, Marge selected Beta Omega!
